fisk was born in salem, massachusetts but moved to melbourne, australia when he was three with his eccentric parents. his father, the horticultural therapist, and his mother, the event planner, took the family abroad for the next twelve years so jackson could work at the royal melbourne hospital. they moved back to the states a little after fisk's sixteenth birthday because they wanted to be close to his sick grandfather. they lived on federal street in a house fisk swears to this day is haunted.
his younger sister effie was born when he was six years old and they were extremely close from the start. he is a bit protective of her but not overbearing and they bond over avoiding the quirks of their parents- and their full names.
it wasn't hard for fisk to adjust to life back in the states thanks to rugby. he'd been on the team back in australia and, once in salem, his skills helped him make captain there. between that and getting a job on his school's radio station, he was set. he ran the advice portion with a girl who would become one of his best friends.
when he graduated from high school, fisk decided to attend nyu to study media science and film & television. it was here that he got summer internships with abc and eventually a full-time position as a social media coordinator when he graduated. while here, he jokingly started a true crime & history comedy podcast after a dare from a co-worker and it went viral before he could even blink. what the fisk?! (wtf) quickly became his baby and he left his job at abc to record full time. he held his first live show back in 2018 and it's been a wild ride since.
it isn't always the easiest for him to live in a different state from his family but he truly loves the freedom. nyc feels like worlds away in all ways but it is more like home to him than salem ever was. being surrounded by the city has aided in keeping him upbeat and social and he finds himself going for runs in parks and hanging out at restaurants and bars all of the time.
